Find out about our campus atmosphere, locations and general environment.
Background
National College of Ireland’s campus is based at Mayor Square and Spencer Dock, conveniently located just 300m (or a 3-minute walk) from each other.
We deliver programmes in the areas of Business, Computing, Psychology and Early Childhood Education and Care. Learn more about our programmes.
Our small group teaching model and friendly atmosphere mean students find NCI a very pleasant and supportive atmosphere to study in. Students prosper in an atmosphere where they get to know lecturers, staff and their fellow students. We also have great student support in place if you are having any difficulty adjusting to third level.
Whether you’re a current NCI student, considering experiencing life as an international student in Dublin, or a prospective student, the key information you need to know can be found on our Students Hub.
How could this affect me?
The campus is bigger than you might be used to at School or College and getting lost is common for new students and when timetables change. Becoming familiar with key buildings and locations may help you to prepare.
Our Locations page is useful resource for familiarising yourself with our location, directions on how to get here, as well as Sensory Maps which have been designed to help neurodivergent students, staff, and visitors navigate our Spencer Dock and Mayor Square campuses more comfortably.

Practical tips
Before you arrive and once you’re enrolled, here are helpful next steps:
- Connect with Support Services Early
- Register with Disability Support
- Explore Financial Support Options
- Familiarise Yourself with Academic Supports
- Plan Logistics and Orientation
Contact the Learning Disability and Support Services (LDSS) team as soon as you can. They offer tailored support and can help arrange appropriate academic and personal accommodations based on your needs.
Make sure you formally register your needs with the Disability Support team at NCI. This gives you access to supports such as assistive technology, exam adjustments, library accommodations and more. Please get in touch with our Learning and Disability Officer, Megan O’Meara by emailing LDS@ncirl.ie and she can assist you
If finances are a concern, look into supports such as the Student Assistance Fund which can help with unexpected costs or living expenses during your studies.
Check out the academic supports available — from “Getting to Grips” sessions (e.g., help with writing, referencing, note-taking) to maths and computing support — so you know where to go if you need help with your course work.
Try to visit the campus before your course begins if possible. NCI runs orientation activities and Access Orientation specifically designed for students registering with support services, which can make your first days less overwhelming.
